29 CFR 1910.23(b)(9): The employer did not ensure that ladders are inspected before initial use in each work shift, and more frequently as necessary, to identify any visible defects that could cause employee injury. A.) Jo-Ann Stores, LLC. DBA JOANN Fabric and Crafts, store floor, on or about 03/28/2023 and times prior thereto: Ladders were not inspected before initial use in each shift. Ladders are used to perform tasks including but not limited to reaching materials on the top shelf. Ladders include but are not limited to The Metal Werner Ladder. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

DBA JOANN Fabric and Crafts, store floor, on or about 03/28/2023 and times prior thereto: labels attached to the ladder on the second, fifth, and sixth step were not legible due to the message being worn off. Ladders include but are not limited to The Metal Werner Ladder.
