29 CFR 1910.1000(a)(1):Employee(s) were exposed to an airborne concentration of Carbon Monoxide listed in Table Z-1 in excess of 50 ppm as an 8-hour Time Weighted Concentration: a) Bedford Park station on tracks C3 &C4 An employee with job title of laborer was exposed to carbon Monoxide at an 8-hour Time Weighted Average (TWA) level of 135.8 parts per million (ppm) approximately 2.72 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 50 ppm. The employee was working on a subway tunnel where a gas-powered generator was operating. The exposure level is derived from the blood carboxyhemoglobin level. Condition was noted on or about 03/28/2023. NOTE: BECAUSE ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION IS ALREADY DOCUMENTED IN THE INSPECTION CASE FILE, THE EMPLOYER NEED NOT SUBMIT CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT FOR THIS VIOLATION AS NORMALLY REQUIRED BY 29 CFR 1903.19.
