OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees  a. On or about April 20, 2023, at approximately 12:06 pm, the employer did not adequately address the thermal/heat hazard present during demolition of an electric furnace in a manganese alloy production facility. During the demolition of the furnace structure and removal of the hot slag inside of the furnace, a large amount of hot materials rushed out of the furnace opening and caught fire, resulting in burns and the hospitalization of four employees.
