OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards associated with inadequately maintained racking systems: a) Giant Food Store located at 60 N. 23rd St. Philadelphia, PA: On or about May 2, 2023, employees were working within the vicinity of a industrial steel racking system which had visible damage such as bent upright columns. The racking system was used to store pallets with boxes of food items such as cans and bananas stacked on the second level, exposing employees working near the damaged racks to falling objects and rack collapses.
