29 CFR 1910.178(p)(1): Powered industrial truck(s) found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe had not been taken out of service until restored to safe operating condition(s). (A) Worksite: LaGuardia Airport Queens, NY, 11371. Terminal A and B Tamarac. On or about May 03rd, 2023; a) Employees were operating powered industrial vehicles such as, but not limited to, DEUTZ TD2012 (GT 35A) with exposed electrical wires on the dashboard, missing windshield, and missing mirrors. The employer did not remove the vehicle from service until repairs could be made. b) Employees were operating powered industrial vehicles such as, but not limited to, Textron GSE Tow tractor (BTU 342) with a broken hand brake. The employer did not remove the vehicle from service until repairs could be made. Note: Abatement documentation is required pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19.
