29 CFR1910.212(a)(1):  One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the bakery area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks.  a)  Bakery: On or about May 8, 2023, and times prior to, the 115v Dutchess dough press machine was not enclosed on two sides exposing employees to a rotating shaft and moving parts.  b)  Bakery: On or about May 8, 2023, and times prior to, the 240v Seewer Rondo dough sheeter, Model STE 53 did not have adequate guarding on the roller ends to protect the in-running nip points created by the dough belt running over the pulleys.

Only minor openings in this enclosure, such as ingredient doors, flour inlets, etc., each representing less than 1 1/2 square feet in area, shall be capable of being opened while the mixer is in operation.   a) Bakery:  On or about May 8, 2023, and times prior to, the Hobart commercial mixer, Model M802, 230v was not equipped with a fixed bowl guard for food processing use.  b) Bakery:  On or about May 8, 2023, and times prior to, the Hobart commercial mixer, Model D300, 115v, was not equipped with a fixed bowl guard for food processing use.
