29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c): Worksite located at the intersection of Payne Road and Gallery Blvd Scarborough, ME - Employees were not protected from engulfment hazards while working in a trench that was 8 feet deep installing additions to water pipes. Employees entered the trench at approximately 5 feet in depth and traversed through the trench to a depth of 8 feet and then entered the trench box to conduct work.
