29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): "Roofing work on Low-slope roofs." Except as otherwise provided in paragraph (b) of this section, each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs, with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system. On or about May 10, 2023, at 880 Oneida Street in Menasha, Wisconsin, an employee was exposed to a fall hazard while working on a roof 18 feet above surface level without using fall protection equipment. The Midwest Roof Vac LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(10), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1563236, citation number 01, Item number 001, and was affirmed as a final order on March 1, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 9230 W Bluemound Rd., Wauwatosa, WI 53226.
