29 CFR 1910.22(a)(3): The employer did not ensure that walking-working surfaces are maintained free of hazards such as sharp or protruding objects, loose boards, corrosion, leaks, spills, snow, and ice. Employees were exposed to tripping hazards. Technicians working on the 5th floor of the grain elevator were exposed to tripping hazards. Hinges on the grain bin covers numbered: 1019, 620, and 807 along with others, had been replaced leaving screws protruding up at a length of 1/2 to 1 inch, causing the tripping hazard.
