29 CFR 1910.333(a): Safety-related work practices were not employed to prevent electric shock or other injuries resulting from either direct or indirect electrical contacts, when work was performed near or on equipment or circuits which were or could be energized: a. Site - Employees were exposed to electrocution hazards while performing tree trimming operations in the vicinity of high voltage power lines when the employer did not generate and employ safety related work practices for employees to follow.

29 CFR 1910.333(c)(3): When work was to be performed near overhead lines, the lines were not deenergized and grounded, nor were other protective measures provided before work was started: a. Site - On May 5, 2023 an employee was killed when his steel core positioning strap touched a 19.5Kv high voltage power line that was next to a tree he was working to remove limbs from. The employer did not have the utility company insulate the line in question prior to work commencing.
