29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c): (a) North of Area E; Employees working within an excavation approximately 9.5-feet in depth to prepare for placement of a geothermal vault were not effectively protected from cave-ins as the slope of the east sidewall was not configured in accordance with the requirement for Type C soil and alternative protection method(s) were not in place.
