When normally enclosed live parts are exposed for inspection or servicing, the working space, if in a passageway or general open space, shall be suitably guarded.   On or about May 30, 2023, employees were exposed to electrical hazards due to a 55-gallon drum, and other material, which was stored in front of an electrical panel.  Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR  1910.151(c):Where the eyes or body of any person may be exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body shall be provided within the work area for immediate emergency use.  On or about May 30, 2023, employees were exposed to corrosive chemicals when using the vapor degreaser. The employer did not provide suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes because the eye wash provided to employees was not able to provide continuous flushing in the event the corrosive chemicals were to get in the eyes.  This item was corrected during the inspection.
