This was last demonstrated on or about May 4, 2023, when employees were permitted to operate pneumatic nail guns at 70 to 120 psi without wearing impact-resistant eye protection while roofing a commercial building.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. At a worksite at 1040 SW Luttrell Rd, Blue Springs, MO 64015: Workers were exposed to fall hazards. This was last demonstrated on or about May 4, 2023, when workers were engaged in roofing activities of a commercial building. Workers replacing a roof were exposed to fall hazards ranging from 8 feet 10 inches to 12 feet 6 inches from the eve of the roof to the ground below. No guard rails, safety net system(s), or personal fall arrest system(s) were utilized to prevent falls.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(5)(i): Non-self-supporting ladders were not used at an angle such than the horizontal distance from the top support to the foot of the ladder way approximately one-quarter of the working length of the ladder (the distance along the ladder between the foot and the top support). At a worksite at 1040 SW Luttrell Rd, Blue Springs, MO 64015: Workers were exposed to fall hazards. This was last demonstrated on or about May 4, 2023, when workers were engaged in roofing activities. Workers roofing a commercial building were exposed to fall hazards of 8 feet 10 inches from the eve of the roof to the ground below. Workers were using an extension ladder (Werner) to gain access to the roof area, the ladder was not placed at an angle less than one-quarter of the working length from the landing that was being accessed.
