29 CFR  1910.138(a): Employers shall base the selection of the appropriate hand protection on an evaluation of the performance characteristics of the hand protection relative to the task(s) to be performed, conditions present, duration of use, and the hazards and potential hazards identified.  At the host employer's establishment located at 450 Ripple Avenue, Oshkosh, Wisconsin; the employer did not select and require the use of personal protective equipment that would protect each contractor employee, such as but not limited to appropriate hand protection, or did not ensure that the host employer conducted the appropriate hazard assessment and provided adequate PPE, such as but not limited to appropriate hand protection, exposing each contractor employee to contact with sharp object hazards while working with utility knives. Contractor employees utilized utility knives while wearing cut-resistant gloves that did not adequately protect their hands.
