29 CFR 1926.502(b)(3): Guardrail systems shall be capable of withstanding, without failure, a force of at least 200 pounds (890 N) applied within 2 inches (5.1 cm) of the top edge, in any outward or downward direction, at any point along the top edge. Worksite located at 800 Mill St., Building #200, Kirksville, Missouri- On or about May 26, 2023, an employee was seriously injured when he fell from a breezeway that had a top rail that was toe-nailed into the the outer sheathing instead of a wooden stud. The nails did not hold when the employee went to throw materials down to the ground level.
