29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(v): A body belt was not worn and/or a lanyard was not attached to the boom or basket when working from an aerial lift: Note: As of January 1, 1998, subpart M of this part (1926.502(d)) provides that body belts are not acceptable as part of a personal fall arrest system. The use of a body belt in a tethering system or in a restraint system is acceptable and is regulated. a. On or about June 13, 2023, at the above addressed jobsite, an employee performing steel setting activities from a JLG 600S was not attached by a lanyard to the boom or basket. The employee was thereby exposed to the hazards associated with a fall of approximately twenty-one (21) feet. BAM DECKING, INC. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(2)(v), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1531705, citation number 01, item number 02, and was affirmed as a final order on May 31, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 1430 E. Golf Rd Schaumburg, IL 60173.
