29 CFR 1910.176(b): Material stored in tiers was not stacked, blocked, interlocked or limited in height so that it was stable and secure against sliding and collapse. A) 930 South Springfield Rd Union, NJ 07083, store aisle 52 - The employer did not ensure bulky wheeled merchandise (hand trucks) was secured against rolling / displacement when stored in the overhead rack shelves, such as through the use of toe beams and/or bolted safety beams; thereby exposing employee(s) working / walking in aisle below to struck-by hazard of falling merchandise. A MET associate was struck in the head when one of several steel hand trucks stored in an overhead space fell during merchandise re-stocking. Incident occurred on June 21, 2023.
