29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c). a) Jobsite located at 836 Dudley St Philadelphia, PA 19148: On or about June 26, 2023, the employer did not ensure that each employee in an excavation was protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system. Employees were performing underground piping repairs within the excavation measuring approximately 7 feet deep without the use of adequate shoring or other protective system, thereby exposing employees to cave-in hazards.
