29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees were not protected by protective helmets while working in areas where there was a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns. On July 5, 2023, two framers were passing up wood roof joists from the ground level to the second floor and then to the roof to other framers above attaching them in place without the use of hardhats, exposing employees to struck by hazards.

29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Employees did not use eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations presented potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents. On or about July 5, 2023, three framers were operating handheld power tools without the protection of safety glasses. Two of the framers were working from the roof of a new home under construction using pneumatic nail guns to nail in new roof joists, while a third framer was working at ground level using a circular saw to cut wood pieces, exposing employees to the hazard of being struck by flying particles.
