Note: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the case file, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR  1926.1053(b)(15): Ladder(s) were not inspected by a competent person for visible defects on a periodic basis and after an occurrence that could have affected their safe use:  New Construction Site: 14-27 28th Avenue/ 14-30 Astoria Blvd. Astoria, NY 11102.  a) Employees utilized a job-made ladder approximately 13-feet height  to gain access to a second level at a construction site with a missing handrail section. The employer did not inspect the ladder prior to use by employees; on or about 7/7/2023.  Note: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the case file, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by CFR 1903.19
