On or about July 11, 2023, employees used a caustic chemical, Peel away 1 paint remover, to remove paint from baseboards and decorative columns without adequate eye or face protection.

29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2): The employer shall instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his work environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury. a) Mark Perry 226 West 113th Street, New York, NY 10026 - Lobby Area. On or about July 11, 2023 employees removing paint from baseboards and decorative columns were exposed to the hazards of lead contained in the paint without being instructed by the employer on how to recognize and avoid unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to their work environment to control of eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness.
