29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):Machine guarding was not provided to protect operator(s) and other employees from hazard(s) created by moving and rotating parts: On or about July 7, 2023, the employer failed to ensure that employees were protected from the moving parts of the autoclave roller and lift/dump system in the Autoclave Processing Area. Employees have to maneuver the hot autoclave bins manually so that they line up in time for the platform to lift the bins up and empty them into a larger container before the bin is set back down on the line to be moved to the next location. Due to this, employees are exposed to struck by and/or caught in between hazards of the automated rollers and the moving chains/sprockets of the conveyor line when they have to step into this active area.
