29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation.  The employer does not protect each employee engaged in roofing work by requiring the employee to wear eye and face protection while operating pneumatic roofing nail guns.  a. This most recently occurred on July 18, 2023, at 617 Winterberry Ct. Joliet, IL 60431.  Employees are exposed to eye injury while operating pneumatic roofing nail guns without eye protection during roofing work.  R & R Construction Services, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1546321, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on January 3, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 7130-7134 168th Street, Tinley Park, IL. The employer does not provide fall protection training to each employee engaged in roofing activity at an elevation of up to approximately 19 feet above the ground, in order to recognize hazards associated with working at heights and to understand procedures to control or minimize those hazards. This most recently occurred on July 18, 2023, at 617 Winterberry Ct. Joliet, IL 60431.  Employees engaged in roofing activity are not protected from fall hazards while working at an elevation of up to approximately 19 feet above the ground.
