29 CFR  1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c).   (a) 140 Talbot Street, Burlington City, NJ: Workers were exposed to caught in and struck by hazards in an excavation they were working in preparing to install residential structure wall supports to a foundation of a house that was next to the excavation. The excavation had shear walls with no shoring or sloping and was at least 10 feet deep in type B or C soil. Condition noted on or around 07/20/2023.  NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
