29 CFR  1910.303(g)(2)(i): Except as elsewhere required or permitted by Subpart S of Part 1910, live parts of electric equipment operating  at 50 volts or more were not guarded against accidental contact by use of approved cabinets or other forms of approved enclosures or by any of the means identified in paragraphs (A), (B), (C), and (D) of 29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i):  a. On or about July 25, 2023, at the laundry room area.  Employees were exposed to an electric shock hazard when conducting laundry operations close to an electrical box that had the live conductors exposed and was not guarded for accidental contact.   NOTE:  Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer prior to citation issuance.

29 CFR 1910.303(g)(1): Sufficient access and working space was not provided and maintained about all electric equipment (operating at 600 volts, nominal, or less to ground) to permit ready and safe operation and maintenance of such equipment:  On or about July 25, 2023, electrical service panels were not readily accessible, the panels were blocked as follows:  a. At the laundry room area. One electrical service panel was obstructed by a five-shelve laundry products rack.  b. At the pump room area.  Eight electrical service panels were obstructed by cardboard boxes of tools, a 38-inches wheeled cart, a 29-inches trashcan and miscellaneous tools, equipment, lamp stand and chair.   NOTE 1:  King Christian Hotel was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 1452705, Citation Number 1, Item Number 1, Issued on 04-08-2020, with respect to a workplace located at 1102 King's Wharf, St. Croix, VI.  NOTE 2:  Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer prior to citation issuance.

29 CFR  1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use:   a. On or about July 25, 2023, at El Leon kitchen area.  Employees were exposed to eyes and skin hazards when they used and/or handle corrosive products such as Result 100 detergent (sodium hydroxide) during dishwashing operations and there were no facilities available for quick drenching of the eyes.  NOTE:  Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item since it was submitted prior to citation issuance.
