29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(4): Ladder(s) were used for purposes other than the purpose for which they were designed. Corridor near compactor room: On or about August 2, 2023, the employer did not ensure that an employee working from a section of a 16-foot extension ladder had used it the way in which it was designed to be used. The two sections of the ladder were separated and the base section was being used with aluminum brackets still attached. This caused the aluminum brackets to rest on the wall, instead of the ladder resting against the wall.
