In addition, this same multi-outlet was connected to another multi-outlet inside a cabinet which was providing power to a charger, brand Zebra for the scanners.  This condition exposes employees to fire and electrical shock hazards.      Note:   Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), respectively.

29 CFR  1910.178(p)(1):Powered industrial truck(s) found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe had not been  taken out of service until restored to safe operating condition(s)  (a) On or about August 4th, 2023, at the US Postal Service, Catano Post Office, Barbosa Avenue, for a manual pallet tilter, brand Dayton, capacity 2200 pounds, Model 33W285, CSHOs observed a pin on the handle secured by clear tape.  In case the pin falls, this would cause for the lever on the handle to get loose and causing malfunctioning of the equipment and causing a struck-by hazard for the employees.  The repair and securing of this pin with clear tape is not an acceptable way to correct this discrepancy.  Note:   Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), respectively.
