29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) On or about August 15, 2023, at the US Postal Service Cata�o DMDU Annex - the Low-Cost Universal Sorter (LCUS) #3 conveyor, was found with protruding rods on all rollers. The Low-Cost Universal Sorter (LCUS) relay switch that controls the conveyor rollers was not operational, allowing the rollers to continue operating when the machines complete the task, exposing employees to caught-by hazard.
