29 CFR  1910.176(b): Material stored in tiers was not stacked, blocked, interlocked or limited in height so that it was stable and secure against sliding and collapse.  Stock room of 251 Meadow Street, Chicopee, MA: On August 16, 2023, and at times prior, boxes of artificial Christmas trees were stored in a pile, up to 12 feet in height, on top of a metal racking system. The stack of Christmas tree boxes was not organized in any order of size or weight, and no other means were utilized to ensure the pile was stable and secure against sliding and collapse. One box that was providing support for those boxes stacked above was visibly damaged and had potential to weaken the whole stack and cause collapse from above.   Family Dollar/Dollar Tree was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard, 1910.176(b), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1645705, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on September 8, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 125 Church Street, Pembroke, MA.  Family Dollar/Dollar Tree was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard, 1910.176(b), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1658913, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on September 19, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 706 Long Hill Road, Groton, CT.  Family Dollar/Dollar Tree was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard, 1910.176(b), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1454287, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on June 11, 2020, with respect to a workplace located at 214 Taunton Avenue, East Providence, RI.
