29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where a portable ladder was used for access to an upper level landing surface and the ladder's length did not allow the ladder side rails to extend at least 3 feet (0.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed, and a grasping device was not provided to assist employees in mounting and dismounting the ladder: a) Lower Deck Access Ladder - On or about August 17, 2023, employees utilizing a job made wooden ladder were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately seven (7) feet from the lack of an available grasping device when the ladder side rails did not extend at least three (3) feet above the upper landing surface. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
