29 CFR  1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  Location: a) Worksite; sidewalk  a) On or about 8/18/2023, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from falling by using guardrail systems, safety net systems, and/or personal fall arrest systems. Employees walked/worked near the exposed edges of the demolished sidewalk and planking/decking, which was approximately 12.6 feet above the concrete basement level below, to perform work such installing metal decking without the use of fall protection.
