29 CFR  1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.   a. Located at 9800 Dublin Road, Powell, OH 43065: On or about August 21, 2023, the employer failed to ensure the employees were protected from falling from the unprotected sides and edges when removing and installing plastic covering over greenhouses structures. The employees were exposed to falls of up to approximately 20 feet to the ground below.

The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards.  a. Located at 9800 Dublin Road, Powell, OH 43065: On or about August 21, 2023, the employer failed to train employees on the hazards associated with falls and the means and methods necessary to protect them from falling while removing and installing plastic covering over greenhouses structures. The employees were exposed to falls of up to approximately 20 feet to the ground below.
