29 CFR  1926.701(b): All protruding reinforcing steel, onto and/or into which employees could fall, was not guarded to eliminate the hazard of impalement.  Location: Ground level along the south side of the residential construction site at 130 North End Boulevard, Salisbury Beach, MA  On 8/23/2023, eight workers were engaged in rough framing activities at a new construction single-family home. They encountered hazards from unguarded reinforcing steel that was protruding from steel pilings.  Instance A: At the rear of the site, two exposed reinforcing steel connection points were situated close to a lumber storage area. This same spot served as the base for two ladders that the workers utilized to perform exterior sheathing tasks.  Instance B: Along the south side of the site, three unguarded reinforcing steel connection points were identified near a lumber storage area. To access a ladder, which was the main entry point to the structure, workers had to navigate past these potential hazards.
