29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about August 2, 2023, the employer did not ensure ingoing nip points created by the NPI Conveyor System were adequately guarded which resulted in an injury to an employee's right middle fingers when they became caught in the conveyor system while performing work duties. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1904.29(b)(3): Each recordable injury or illness was not recorded on the OSHA 300 Log and 301 Incident Report within seven calendar days of receiving information that a recordable injury or illness has occurred: (a): On or about August 9, 2023, an OSHA Form 301 or equivalent was not completed by the employer for a work-related injury within seven calendar days. An employee was injured and subsequently lost days away from work after having her hand caught in a NPI conveyor system. (b): On or about August 9, 2023, a work-related injury that resulted in an employee losing days away from work was not recorded on the OSHA 300 log within seven calendar days. An employee was injured when their hand was caught in a NPI conveyor system. Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
