29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Wyandot USA, LLC. on or about August 27, 2023, at the address of 135 Wyandot Ave, Marion, OH; The employer failed to ensure the incoming nip-point(s) on the Extruder #4's blue conveyor belt was adequately guarded. Employees performing operational inspection activities at or near the unguarded nip-point of the conveyor belt were exposed to crushing hazards.
