29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  On or about August 30, 2023 the employer did not ensure that effective machine guarding was in place on the P18-2 hydraulic molding press. Employees are exposed to the closing action (pinch point) of the press plates while placing and retrieving materials including finished production pieces. A single actuated switch (non constant pressure) is used to raise and lower the bolster and other plates allowing the employees to reach into the hazardous area.
