29 CFR  1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment.  At the stick wash, vat wash and oven cleaning areas, employees engaged in cleaning activities were exposed to chemical hazards.  The employer had not assessed the workplace to determine necessary personal protective equipment to protect employees from chemical hazards including but not limited to; Hy-Alk and K-Brite 220  which causes severe skin burns and eye damage,  and can cause irritation and burns;  K-San 125 which can cause severe irritation, eye damage and pulmonary edema.

29 CFR  1910.138(b):The employer did not base selection of appropriate hand protection on an evaluation of the performance characteristics of the hand protection relative to the tasks to be performed, conditions present, duration of use, and the hazards and potential hazards identified.  At CK Enterprises, the employer failed to provide employees preforming sanitation work in the stick wash, vat wash and oven cleaning areas  with the appropriate personal protective equipment. The employer did not ensure that the personal protective equipment provided to employees was sufficient to protect employees from chemical hazards including but not limited to Hy-Alk and K-Brite 220  which causes severe skin burns and eye damage,  and can cause irritation and burns;  K-San 125 which can cause severe irritation, eye damage and pulmonary edema.

29 CFR  1910.1200(f)(6)(ii):  Except as provided in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(7) and 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(8), the employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged or marked with the product identifier and words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available to employees under the hazard communication program, would provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical   At the chemical storage are, employees performing chemical mixing and storing were exposed to chemical hazards.  The employer did not label secondary container of a clear substance used in sanitation activities.
