29 CFR 1926.652(g)(2): Excavations of earth material to a level no greater than 2 feet (.61m) below the bottom of a shield was permitted: Jobsite located at 205 Retreat Avenue, Hartford, Connecticut: On, or about, September 22, 2023, an employee suffered serious injuries when a trench box dislodged from its resting position, rotated downward and struck him in the back. The trench box had been positioned in the trench greater than 2 feet above the bottom of the trench.
