29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: Location: 142 Littleton Road, Westford MA On 9/28/2023, two workers performed carpentry tasks near an unprotected edge more than 14 feet above a lower surface without utilizing any form of fall protection. Instance A: One worker was observed standing on the roof surface with a pneumatic nail gun installing asphalt shingles without any form of fall protection Instance B: One workers was observed kneeling on the roof surface laying out roof underlayment wearing an unconnected fall protection harness therefore having no effective form of fall protection.
