29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface having an unprotected side or edge which was six or more feet (1.8m) above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest system: a) Worksite, Byron Lake Park 78 Bayview Drive S, Oakdale, NY 11769: Employees on site were laying sheathing on a recreational building surrounding the public pool approximately 20 ft above the ground. Employees were working on an unprotected edge without the use of fall protection. An employee fell from the roof to the ground below resulting in serious injury; on or about 10/05/2023 Note: In addition to abatement certification, the employer is required to submit abatement documentation for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
