29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface having an unprotected side or edge which was six or more feet (1.8m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) Bridge 2-294 North (over south Bay Road), Dover, DE 19901: On or about October 11, 2023, CSHO observed employees accessing the area under the bridge by walking along the edge to the other side of the divided roadway without any means of fall protection exposing them to falls of approximately 18 feet above live traffic.
