29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycle(s): a) Price Chopper Operating Co Inc., 1 W. Main Street, Richfield Springs, NY - Meat Department: On or about October 10, 2023, employees were cutting strip loin with a Hobart vertical bandsaw (Model 6801) on a daily basis without using the push plate. The employer did not ensure that the point of operation of the bandsaw was guarded and the push plate was utilized to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during the operating cycle. This resulted in an amputation of the tip of an employee's right ring finger.

Main Street, Richfield Springs, NY - Meat Department: On or about October 12, 2023, the power cord prongs for the Hobart bandsaw was used daily with corrosive buildup. The employer did not ensure the equipment was free from electrical hazards.
