29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use. Reference: ANSI Z358.1 Emergency Eyewash and Shower Standard 5.4.2 Reference: The eyewash unit shall be in accessible locations that require no more than 10 seconds to reach, located on the same level as the hazard, and the path of travel shall be free of obstructions that may inhibit the immediate use of the equipment. Laundry Room and Maintenance Shop: On and/or before October 17, 2023, employees conducted operations using corrosive products in the following areas: a. Laundry Room: Employees used laundry spot pre-treatment cleaner(s) and degreaser(s) without an available eye wash station. b. Maintenance Shop: Employees used coil cleaners without an available eye wash station. Employees were potentially exposed to retinal and corneal burns.
