For falling objects too large, heavy or massive to be contained or deflected, the employer did not place and secure such potential falling objects away from the edge of the surface from which they could fall.  At the jobsite located at 2919 East Hampdon Woods St. Derby, KS, employee(s) engaged in residential masonry activities, conducting cutting operations at ground level, were exposed to struck-by hazards from falling tools or materials in that the elevated scaffold was not equipped with additional protection from falling objects (i.e. toeboards, screens, guardrail systems).

29 CFR 1926.1153(c)(1): For each employee engaged in a task identified on Table 1, the employer did not fully and properly implement the engineering controls, work practices, and respiratory protection specified for the task on Table 1.  At the jobsite located at 2919 East Hampdon Woods St. Derby, KS, employee(s) engaged in residential masonry activities, dry cutting on Grand Chenier red bricks, were exposed to silica hazards. The employer failed to implement engineering and work practice controls as outlined in Table 1 to reduce employee exposure to silica dust.
