29 CFR 1910.132(a):Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, and extremities, protective clothing, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers was not provided, used, and/or maintained. a) At the facility: Employer did not provide all employees who interact with residents who bite with personal protective equipment (PPE) such as bite resistant arm guards/sleeves. On 06/09/2023 an employee was bitten on the forearm by a resident. Condition was noted on or about 10/25/2023. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000 AS PER CFR 1903.19.
