29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): The employer did not administer a continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.95(c) through (o) whenever employee noise exposures equaled or exceeded an 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 decibels measured on the A scale, or equivalently a dose of fifty percent: (a) In the Blackwood building, a pop-up chop saw operator was exposed to noise levels at 232.8% of the permissible 8-hour TWA (90 dBA). The equivalent dBA level of 232.8% is approximately 96.0 dBA. Sampling was performed for 495 minutes during one shift. Zero exposure was assumed for unsampled time. (b) In the maintenance building, a pallet builder was exposed to noise levels at 118.9% of the permissible 8-hour TWA (90 dBA). The equivalent dBA level of 118.9% is approximately 91.2 dBA. Sampling was performed for 481 minutes during one shift. Zero exposure was assumed for unsampled time. (c) In the maintenance building, a pallet builder was exposed to noise levels at 125.7% of the permissible 8-hour TWA (90 dBA). The equivalent dBA level of 125.7% is approximately 91.6 dBA. Sampling was performed for 472 minutes during one shift. Zero exposure was assumed for unsampled time. (d) In the extension building, a multi-head trim saw operator/stacker was exposed to noise levels at 68.25% of the permissible 8-hour TWA (90 dBA). The equivalent dBA level of 68.25% is approximately 87.2 dBA. Sampling was performed for 547 minutes during one shift. Zero exposure was assumed for unsampled time. (e) In the extension building, a resaw operator was exposed to noise levels at 124.7% of the permissible 8-hour TWA (90 dBA). The equivalent dBA level of 124.7% is approximately 91.6 dBA. Sampling was performed for 471 minutes during one shift. Zero exposure was assumed for unsampled time.
