29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks.  Hotshot Workshop: A WEN 12-inch bench mounted drill press was not equipped with a guard at the point of operation.  Employees are exposed to flying fragment hazards to the face and eyes.  The USDA, Forest Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1608157, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 12/09/2022, with respect to a workplace located at 640 S. Main St., P.O. Box 8, LONE PINE, CA 93545.  The USDA, Forest Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1604647, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 11/29/2022, with respect to a workplace located 5 Ritter Rd., MAMMOTH LAKES, CA 93546.

29 CFR 1910.213(c)(1): Circular handfed ripsaw(s) were not guarded by an automatically adjusting hood which completely enclosed that portion of the saw above the table and above the material being cut:  Carpentry Shop: The 10-inch BOSCH 4100 table saw (serial No. 308212111) used for ripping purposes, was not provided with a blade guard that adjust to the thickness of the materials being cut and remain in contact with it. Employees were exposed to severe laceration related injuries.  The USDA Forest Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (29 CFR 1910.213(c)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1605749, citation number 01, item number 001 and was affirmed as a final order on 09/26/2022, with respect to a workplace located at 100 Forni Road, Placerville, CA 95667  The USDA Forest Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (29 CFR 1910.213(c)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1605769, citation number 01, item number 001 and was affirmed as a final order on 09/26/2022, with respect to a workplace located at 26820 Silver Drive, Pioneer, CA 95666
