29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1):Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc.  a) On or about 11/03/2023, employer did not ensure that employees operating a JET 15" Bench Drill Press: Model J-2500 (SN:21077947) to debur parts for cables had guarding to prevent exposure to the rotating drill capable of spinning up to 1720 RPM.  b) On or about 11/03/2023, employer did not ensure that employees operating a JET 15" Bench Drill Press: Model J-2530(SN:23058003) to debur parts for cables had guarding to prevent exposure to the rotating drill capable of spinning up to 1720 RPM.  c) On or about 11/03/2023, employer did not ensure that a Colonial Junior Press: Nomenclature M53(SN:G-3231) had adequate guarding to prevent employees from reaching over, under, and around the barrier guard, while the press pushes down to makes a keyway for a sprocket that is installed into a gearbox for Electric Eel's sectional drain cleaners creating a pinch point hazard.
