No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.

29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i):29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): Except as provided elsewhere in this section 29 CFR 1910.28, the employer did must ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level is protected from falling by one or more of the systems described in 29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): On or about November 3, 2023, The employer did not ensure that employees installing lighting on the residential structure with unprotected sides or edges that were 4 feet or more above lower level, were protected from falling. Employees were exposed to fall hazards in excess of 18 feet while engaged in installation of lighting activities on the walking-working surface. No form of fall protection was being utilized while performing the lighting installation activities. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1910.30(a)(1):29 CFR 1910.30(a)(1): The employer must provide training for each employee who uses personal fall protection systems or who is required to be trained as specified elsewhere in this subpart before any employee is exposed to a fall hazard. The employer must ensure employees are trained in the requirements of this paragraph on or before May 17, 2017. On or about November 3, 2023, employees engaged in installation of lighting on a residential structure were exposed to fall hazards in excess of 18 feet with no fall protection when the employer did not ensure they were trained to recognize and minimize hazards associated with falls. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
