In the backroom of the carwash, an employee was using 1050 - Granular Base, a hazardous chemical, without the appropriate PPE, such as but not limited to eye protection and hand protection, exposing an employee to chemical hazards.

29 CFR  1910.1200(e)(1): Employers shall develop, implement, and maintain at each workplace, a written hazard communication program which at least describes how the criteria specified in paragraphs (f), (g), and (h) of this section for labels and other forms of warning, safety data sheets, and employee information and training will be met.  a) On or about and at times prior to November 7, 2023, at the establishment located at 3411 North Ballard Road, Appleton, Wisconsin; the employer did not develop and implement a written hazard communication program when maintenance employees worked with hazardous chemicals in the workplace, such as but not limited to Conditioner Cherry Blue 341, Conditioner Cherry Red 342, Conditioner Cherry Yellow 343, DLX Supreme Windshield De-Icer Solvent #750, High pH Alkaline Extender 515, Granular Base, Low pH Presoak 405, Lustrafoam with Carnauba Wax 431, Pearl Black 405, Proshield 447, and Tire & Wheel 500, exposing employees to the hazards associated with hazardous chemicals.  All provisions of 29 CFR 1910.1200(e) through (h) must be contained in a written hazard communication program. On or about August 14, 2023, an employee was exposed to contaminated sharps found on the premises. Potential employee occupational exposure includes, but is not limited to contact with contaminated sharps during housekeeping on the premises.
